“A therapeutic experience that brings you back to the basics - pen, ink and paper.”
Experience the romance of writing all over again. With the increasing exposure to screen time, many of us have forgotten the simple pleasure writing brings.
Slow down and savour the joy of putting ink to paper. Learn how to use the traditional dip nib pen in a modern context.
You will be equipped with the fundamentals of letterforms which will provide a head start in developing your own unique style. There will be hands-on practice and a structured step-by-step guidance. Taught in a relaxed manner, this workshop is a wonderful way to reconnect with your soul and with others in real time.
If you've always wanted to pick up calligraphy but couldn't find time to, this workshop is for you. Expect to walk away with foundational skills that will help you create cards or quotes or simply as a way to unwind and relax.

Trained as a graphic designer, Joanne picked up calligraphy whilst on holiday in New York. The lessons had a great impact on her; upon returning to Singapore she felt drawn to writing with her hands, and slowly steered away from designing with the computer. It may seem like it's taking a step backwards but calligraphy has taught her so much about perseverance, becoming more human and working more with her heart than head. She believes that words are powerful and that art can change an atmosphere of a space. Currently running The Letter J Supply, Joanne makes customised pieces for clients, and retails her work at lifestyle shops in Singapore. To date, she has conducted over 100 workshops for more than 1000 participants in Singapore (since 2014).
